Cape Lodge restaurant in WA’s South West scored 14 among the best in the country, while Indigo Oscar on Cottesloe Beach ranked 12.

Two iconic Western Australian venues, Cape Lodge Restaurant and Indigo Oscar, have today been dubbed in the top 1 per-cent of Australia’s best at the 2025 Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat Awards.

Serving as a tribute to the resilience, boldness and sheer creativity that define Australia’s dining scene, the 2025 Chef Hat awards recognise the venues redefining Australian cuisine and keeping the heart of the country’s culinary landscape beating strong.

Iconic South West retreat Cape Lodge scored 14 in this year’s awards, receiving recognition for curating a menu where innovation meets heritage. With the judging panel focused on rewarding venues exhibiting both creativity and character, Cape Lodge was dubbed for Food Quite Out of the Ordinary and worth a stop on the way.

Cottesloe’s beachfront Latin American restaurant Indigo Oscar scored 12 in this year’s Chef Hat Awards, commended as A Good Restaurant in its category. Serving a modern twist on Latin American cuisine, the restaurant continues to take inspiration from global influences and tells a story of passion and place with every dish served.

Fiveight Culinary Manager, Thomas Haynes said the two venues have received highly deserved recognition for their efforts in pushing the boundaries of dining.

“The 2025 Chef Hat Awards recognise the passion and innovation taking place in Australian kitchens and we’re thrilled to see our teams at Cape Lodge and Indigo Oscar rewarded for their dedication. As a group, our chefs and their teams continue to seek inspiration from the freshest local produce to produce some of the finest plates in this country.

We’re grateful to see the team’s tireless dedication to their craft rewarded and acknowledged by the country’s gold standard in dining,” said Haynes. For more information on this year’s awards, visit: https://www.agfg.com.au/awards/
