Fiveight welcomes A Moveable Feast to Carillon City as part of a new initiative: Spaces Between

A Moveable Feast

Fiveight has today announced a partnership with Activate Perth to deliver the organisation’s inaugural CBD food festival: A Moveable Feast.

A Moveable Feast (AMF) will see Perth’s top culinary talent temporarily relocate their kitchens to Hay Street Mall for a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience on 7 September 2023, from 5pm to 10pm. The festival aims to invigorate Hay Street Mall’s night-time economy by enticing food enthusiasts, local residents and city-based office workers with a unique gastronomic experience.

AMF forms part of the programming for Fiveight’s new Spaces Between initiative at Carillon City, which has been designed for visitors to connect with commerce, culture and community; experience the uncommon and escape the mundane; and discover the Perth CBD.

As part of the partnership, Carillon City will host three pop-ups at its prominent Hay Street Mall sites with chefs from Hyder and Shears, Meat and Main and Lucky Chans each activating their kitchens under one roof for the event.

Fiveight CEO, Paige Walker said the partnership with Activate Perth works in tandem with the interim placemaking initiative for the Carillon City space, Spaces Between.

“Partnering with like-minded organisations such as Activate Perth allows us to support our vision to revitalise the Perth CBD, adding social value to the community while the Carillon City space undergoes planning for redevelopment. Following Strange Festival in June this year, A Moveable Feast is now the second activation at Carillon City, and the first as part of our Spaces Between initiative. We are excited to be the host for this inaugural culinary event,” Mrs Walker said.

“Support for events such as A Moveable Feast helps us play a short-term part in our long-term vision to help breathe life back into Perth city. Through the Spaces Between initiative, we will continue to utilise this prized CBD space to engage with the local community and host fresh new experiences where there are opportunities to do so,” Mrs Walker said.

Activate Perth Chair, Kristi Dempster said that with support from Fiveight and DLGSC, Activate Perth will transform vacant retail spaces into bustling culinary hubs for the festival.

“We are grateful for the support from Fiveight in helping make A Moveable Feast a reality. Utilising Carillon City’s central CBD space will enable us to bring to life Hay Street Mall by transforming vacant retail outlets into vibrant culinary destinations. We are excited to create an engaging and immersive experience that brings the community together and celebrates the city’s vibrant food culture,” Ms Dempster said.
